Gorumara National Park is situated on the flood plains of Murti and Jaldhaka rivers of Doaars region which is 15 kms from Lataguri town. It was declared a National Park in 1994 because of its diversity of animals and plants. It is known for the Asiatic one horned rhino. The beautiful green gardens, tall green grasses, huge dense forests and streams add beauty to the park. There is a watchtower beside the Forest Rest House which is a beautiful spot to observe wildlife animals like elephants, rhinos, rock python, Malayan giant squirrel, leopards, Indian Bison and deer that come to the salt reservoir just below the tower.

The best time to visit the park is from the months of November to February. The temperature of the park ranges between 10 to 27 degrees during the year. The park is closed from mid July to mid September. The Silver Ridge Resort and the Gorumara Panchvati Resort in Gorumara are the famous places for accommodation. Apart from this there are many good quality resorts in Lataguri town. Murti Tourist Centre, which is located on the bank of River Murti, is the most luxurious resort in North Bengal. It provides an awesome view of The Tondu forests.

Bagdogra, the nearest airport in Jalpaiguri district is 80 kms away from the park. Chalsa, New Jalpaiguri and New Alipurduar are the nearby railway stations. One can reach the park by road using the National Highway 31 between Siliguri and Guwahati. Rental cars are easily available for this route.
