The beautiful Bhubaneswari temple is located on the banks of River Gomati at Udaipur, the temple town of Tripura. The temple is just 55 Kms away from Agartala (capital city). It has famed for its wonderful architecture. This amazing temple is an example of the yore. It was constructed in the 17th century by Maharaja (Emperor) Govinda Manikya.

About the temple:


Bhubaneswari Temple has its mention in two of the historic plays of the greatest Indian poet and writer Sir Rabindranath Tagore. The plays were titled as Rajarshi & Bisarjan. This stunning temple is erected on a 3 feet high tiled terrace. The roof of the temple is formed in the typical four-chaala style. It has stupa like crowns on the doorway and interior chambers. The stupa on the interior chamber is ornamented with floral motifs which elaborates the fine & artistic work of the artisans.
