Hosur is a beautiful town and a municipality located in Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu. In the year 1290, Hosur was set up by King Rama Natha, a descendent of Hoysala Dynasty. However, the rule of Hoysala Dynasty ended with their defeat by Pandian Dynasty. Nevertheless, it was the British period when this town again rose into glory as it was designated as the head quarters for Salem district. Hosur was previously encircled with dense forests. Places of Interest Hosur Tamil Nadu:

Thorapalli Village - it is around 6 km from Hosur. It is a small picturesque village. In this village the first Governor General of independent India, Rajaji was born.

Hill Temple - the temple on the hill in Hosur is very popular. Main deity of this temple is Thiru Chandirachoodeshwarar that is Lord Shiva. From this temple you can bask in the beautiful panoramic vistas.

Hogenakal Falls - from Hosur at the distance of 150 km Hogenakal Falls is located across Cauvery River. If you travel to this place from Bangalore via Chandapuram, Anekal, Thally, Denkanikottai, Anchetty then you will definitely witness a novel experience as there are many reserved forest areas en route. You will see wild animals of which elephants are the very common sight. You can also relish the beauty of Bettamugilaalam, the highest peak of this area.

Thally - famously referred to as Little England for its Mediterranean climate, this charming village is 25 km away from Hosur.

Hosur is well connected with Bangalore via Hosur Road. Hosur Road is a National Highway of India which is maintained by the NHAI National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
