6 KMS away from Imphal in the west of Manipur, the Manipur Zoological Garden situated at Iroishemba has a wonder of varied species of flora & fauna. The southern side of the garden is surrounded by the Manipur Agricultural University and the western side of the highway has a huge stretch of paddy fields. The Zoo started on the 2nd of October, 1976 is a home to a numerous endangered species & the best place for the nature lovers. It preserves & protects many rare species of flora & fauna. The garden takes its place at the foot hillocks of the pine plantation which gives an amazing experience of the visit.

Flora & Fauna:

The garden also known as the 'Jewel Box' of Manipur has almost 14 endangered species among which is the Brow Antlered Deer- the most endangered animal of the world. It also has more than 55 species of birds & other animals where the total number raises up to 420. The natural mesmerizing green painting on the canvas of Manipur is a wonder to marvel at.
