Khajuraho is a town in the State of Madhya Pradesh, Center of India. Khajuraho city is situated in the forest plains of Madhya Pradesh in the region known as Bundelkhand. Khajuraho has largest group of monuments and medieval temples which are adorned with numerous sculptures of extraordinary grace and delicacy celebrating the stylized and refined courtly accomplishments of beauty, love and creative arts.

The temples of Khajuraho are among the most well known monuments of India. World famous Khajuraho temples were built around 1000 yrs ago under the general and artistic benefaction of the Chandela Kings of Central India. These temples of Khajuraho are magnificent in structure and richly carved. All the temples were completed from 950-1050 A.D. and originally, there were 85 temples among which only 22 have been preserved and survived. Khajuraho temples are the most graphic, erotic and sensuous sculptures on India. These temples are unique architecturally as each temple in Khajuraho has a distinct plan and design.

The Khajuraho village is divided in three directional areas in which the major groups of temples are there. Firstly, the Western group of temple is the main temple complex. There is Eastern group of temple which has the Jain temple. Southern temple consists of Dulhadeo and Beejamandal temple. Sound and Light show at Western group of temple is the main attraction. Khajuraho Dance Festival is organized every year from 25th February to 2nd March providing an exclusive platform to showcase the Indian classical dance forms like Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Odisi, Kathakali etc. The best season to visit Khajuraho is in between July - March. Accommodation is not a problem in Khajuraho as the city is filled with all types of hotels.
