This 90 mtr high fall records the 2nd highest position amongst the water falls in India. The Kaveri River cascades into two sections after flowing for a distance of 2 km across the greenery of the abundant Karnatakan forest. Twin jumps of the river- Gagana Chukki & Bhara Chukki located in the Mandya district of Karnataka then further find its way to embrace the Bay of Bengal.
Things To See
Gagana Chukki - The western falls can be viewed from the Hydel Power Viewing end or the Dargah end. One of Asia’s 1st Hydroelectric Power Plant is located in the place.
Bhara Chukki - The eastern falls is just a km away from the Dargah & has a ‘U’ shaped section as the Niagara Falls.
Best Time to Visit:
The tourists generally prefer visiting the falls between July to November. Swimming might be harmful in Shivasamudram Falls but the beauty of the nature is a piece to marvel at.
