The ever highest falls in India by the Sharavathi River is located in the Shimoga district in Karnataka that measures an altitude of about 253 mts. Popularly known as the Gerusoppe Falls, Gersoppa Falls and Jogada Gundi, the Falls does not stream onto rocks unlike the other falls but directly plunges out. The river first originates at Ambuthirtha in the Thirthahalli Taluka & then flowing north-west through the Western Ghats, the river transforms into The Highest Falls & the most popular tourist spot - 'Jog Falls'. The breath-taking view of the never-ending splashing water fills one’s heart with excitement & adventure.
