Gokarna Beach in Karnataka
Gokarna, India's most sacred places in northern Mangalore of Karnataka is a small coastal town on the banks of the Arabian Sea. The coastline is surrounded by five beautiful beaches - Gokarna Beach, Om Beach, Kudle Beach, Paradise Beach and Half Moon Beach and a little range of hills alongside. The twisting way up leads to the wondrous Gokarna Beach. It can also be reached by opting for a roadway. The most favored way to the beach however is the winding way which offers a perfect panorama of elegantly dressed mountain ranges with a rocky, rough touch; the Western Ghats on one side and a vast view of the Arabian Sea on the other side.
The closest beach to the Gokarna town, the Gokarna beach offers a lavishing company by merely the presence of the sun, the waves and the seagulls. A popular attraction near the Gokarna Beach is the Mahabaleshwar Temple of Lord Shiva.
The resorts and beach side hotels give a luxurious, but quite affordable accommodation service. The Gokarna Beach can be reached by buses & maxi cabs from Ankola (25km), Kumta (36km) and Karwar (59km) from National Highway. Visitors to the beach can also prefer the railways which is just 6 km from the town.
