Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary in Jammu derives its name from Nandini Village located at a distance of 28 km from Jammu. The sanctuary is situated around 76 km from Srinagar from south-east and located near Pahalgam. The region playing host to a large number of species supports 8 species of mammals and a wide variety of bird species. Mammals including garal, langur, wild boars and leopards are a common sight and birds like the blue rock pigeon, red jungle fowl, peafowl, chir pheasants, Indian mynahs and others can be spotted.
