The tomb of Razia Sultan is situated in Kaithal District Haryana. Kaithal is in the north central part of Haryana associating with a number of historical figures. The tomb was built by Behram Shah in the memory of Razia Sultan, the first ruler women of India in 13th century. There is also a mosque built near the tomb. The place is amongst some of the most visited attractions of Haryana.
Razia sultan was the daughter of the Sultan of Delhi, Iltutmish belonging to the Mameluk dynasty. She was nominated by Iltutmish as the successor to his throne. Razia ascended the throne of Delhi in 1236 AD but soon became the victim of a conspiracy of the Turkish nobles. A battle took place between the Delhi force and Razia's men in 1240 where she was assassinated by her husband Ikhtyar Din Altunia.
