
Museum of Folk & Tribal Art
Museum of Folk & Tribal Art was founded by Late Mr. K.C. Aryan who was a famous art historian, painter, sculptor and a pioneer collector of folk and tribal art objects. He was also the Chairman of this museum. The exhibits at the museum include a wide range of woodcraft objects, terracotta, iron vessels, religious art objects, kanthas from Bengal, murals from Himachal Pradesh, lithographs from Amritsar, embroidery, phulkaris from Punjab, shawls from Swat and hangings from Gujarat. Museum of Folk & Tribal Art also has 200 Shiva heads and a large number of life-size mukhalingas from Karnataka.
Mr. K.C. Aryan was the first Indian to place these priceless objects on the world cultural map and he dedicated his life to accord them. He invested all his savings on these art objects over seven decades. This museum is managed by a registered trust.
