Dhamtan Sahib Gurudwara
Dhamtan Sahib Gurudwara is situated in Narwana city in the Jind district of Haryana. Guru Teg Bahadur the ninth Guru visited the place in 1665 and in 1675 and stayed back for a considerable period of time. During his first visit, Guru Ji had been offered with a humble service by the local head of the area named as Chowdhry Daggo. Chowdhry Daggo dug a well, built a dharamshala and a dwelling place in order to provide Guruji with every possible kind of comfort. But due to orders of Mughul Emperors, the governing chief of the area arrested Guru Teg Bahadur. In 1675 Guru Teg Bahadur again visited the place and started to sanctify the local disciples with holy sermons of Guru Granth Sahib.
After the demise of Guru Teg Bahadur, Guru Gobind Singh Ji stepped into the holy site in 1693 and encouraged the Sikh followers to build a Gurudwara. One of the most popular religious attractions of Jind today, Dhamtan Sahib Gurudwara was constructed by Maharaja of Patiala – Karam Singh in 1840.
The Dhamtan Sahib Gurudwara is visited by local followers of Sikh religion regularly and the place has a distinct attraction among the outsiders too. The Dhamtan Sahib Gurudwara offers a rare and sacred escape to all those who wish to engross themselves in the ecstatic aura of Khalsa.
