Chandigarh Golf Club in Chandigarh is the only golf club for its private members. It was laid out in 1962 over 9 holes initially and now it has been expanded to a full 18-hole course in 1989. It is located in the south of Sukhna Lake and it is adjacent to the residence of Punjab Governor in sector 6, Chandigarh. Owing to its 7,202 yard surface area, the club has been home for some fine professional golfers. Chandigarh Golf Club is also called as Cradle of Indian Golf.

This club has a fine clubhouse, a swimming pool and a gymnasium for its 2300 members. It is very difficult to get the membership at this club as it is the pride of Northern India. Non-members are advised to come with members. Foreigners are sometimes allowed as walk-ins.
