Rachol Seminary is situated about 12 kilometers from Margao in Salcete Taluka in the southern part of Goa. Founded in 1580 by the Jesuits the Rachol seminary was ransacked by the invading moors. Rachol Seminary is known for its religious activities. It is among the first seminaries in Bardez The seminary comprised of a hospital and a school for the poor, a theological college and also was one of India’s first printing press, which was installed by Fr Thomas Stephens.
