Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple, located just 5 km from Raipur along the banks of Kharun River is one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in Chhattisgarh. It is regarded as one of the most valued Hindu shrine in central India. Every year the temple attracts millions of tourists and devotees who come here for offering prayers and be a part of the customs and rituals that are followed on a daily basis. It is an ancient shrine devoted to Lord Shiva and built in the year 1402 by Hajiraj Naik during the rule of Brahmadeo Rai who was the son of King Ramchandra belonging to the Kalchuri dynasty.
