National Parks in Assam

Famous for the one horned Indian rhinoceros and the Hoolock gibbons, Assam is a favorite tourist destination for the adventurer and the wildlife enthusiast. The mighty Brahmaputra River charts its majestic course cutting across the breadth of this northeast Indian state, and subsequently along with several tributaries gives birth to a number of forests on the north and south banks. These regions provide a thriving habitat to a unique variety of flora and fauna distinctly associated with Assam State. Home to numerous wildlife preserves, Assam includes the popular Kaziranga National Park, Manas National Park, Orang – Rajiv Gandhi National Park, Nameri National Park and the Dibru-Saikhowa National Park.
