Formerly known as the Borjhar Airport, the Guwahati – LGBI Airport which also serves as an Indian Air Force Base is managed by the Airports Authority of India. Named after a freedom fighter and the first Chief Minister of Assam State, this airport has recently undergone renovation with cosmetic and operational changes so as to be able to handle increased traffic. Located at a distance of 20 kilometers to the west of Guwahati City Center.

• Salonibari Airport

Located at a distance of 15 kilometers from Tezpur Town, the Salonibari Airport is basically an Indian Air Force aviation facility which has only recently been thrown open for civilian usage. At a distance of 200 kilometers from Guwahati City, the Salonibari Airport is having a single domestic terminal with a capacity to handle 400 passengers every hour. Situated at an elevation of 230 feet above mean sea level, this domestic civil aviation facility at the Salonibari Airport is operated by the Airports Authority of India.
