The Bomdilla Monastery will let you experience the spiritual essence of Arunachal Pradesh. Home to the Buddhist Lamas and Monks Bomdilla Monastery lies in the west Kameng district and is located near Tipi Orchid Research centre at the bank of River Bharali in Arunachal Pradesh. Also known as Gentse Gaden Rabgyel Lling, this Monastery is a famous pilgrimage of the Lamaistic faith which belongs to Mahayana Buddhism. Built in 1965 it accommodates a number of Buddhist lamas and Monks who follow Mahayana Buddhism.

This beautiful Monastery was a replica of the Tsona Gontse monastery at Tsona in southern Tibet, which was set up by the twelfth incarnation of Tsona Gontse Rinpoche. Under the supervision of 14th Dalai Lama in 1997 it was renovated and enlarged. This Monastery comprises of a prayer hall and a temple of Lord Buddha which is extremely beautiful. At the residential quarters, the young monks are taught to narrate prayers and perform tantrayana practices. The monastic life, tradition and different subjects by the senior Lamas or the monks are also major teachings at this monastery.

Bomdilla is located in the heart of the nature, providing magnificent views and excellent historical backup is also famous for its ornamental beauty. Among the major attractions the dragon carpets, thanka wall hangings a number of paintings are mainly attractive, reflecting the craftsmanship that represents the skill of the local artists. Losar, Saka Dawa, Torgya, Dukpa Tse-Shi and the Lhabab Duechen are major festivals celebrated at Bomdilla Monastery.
