Victoria Jubilee Museum established in the year 1887 is located at the Bundar Road in Vijayawada. It is an ideal place to visit for individuals having keen interest in knowing about the archeology and history of the bygone era. The museum run by the Archeological Department of Andhra Pradesh features wide ranging collection of ancient sculptures, idols, inscriptions, paintings, cutlery and weapons. There has been a great effort from the Archeological Department in collecting the artifacts and sculptures which have been cautiously conserved and are put on display at the museum.

The unique collection of art and artifacts has been beautifully exhibited in various galleries or sections. The main attraction at the museum is the black granite statue of Lord Buddha. In addition to this, major tourist attractions at Victoria Jubilee Museum includes numerous bronze and stone sculptures, white limestone figure of Lord Buddha which was brought in from a museum in Alluru, age-old idol of Lord Shiva dating back to 4th & 5th century and the admirable image of Mahishasura Mardini or the Goddess Durga. The museum also showcases a fine collection of pre-historic stone tools, coins, arms, metal works, Neolithic and Microlithic implements.

  • Open from 10 am till 1 pm and 2 pm till 5 pm during winters
  • Remains closed on Fridays and public holidays
