The Qutub Shahi Tombs are a bunch of wonderfully designed tombs that serves as the final resting place of the departed kings of Golconda. The world renowned tombs of seven Qutub Shahi rulers are located at Ibrahim Bagh which is about 12 km from Hyderabad and one km from Golconda Fort. The unique style of the tombs is a fine example of Indian and Persian architectural forms. Built with grey granite, the domes were originally overlaid with blue and green tiles and decorated with exquisite ornamentation.

All the seven tombs are domed shaped and built on an elevated square base surrounded by pointed arches. The shape of the tombs is quadrangular that rises to variable heights from 9 to 15 meters above the terrace and can be approached from all sides by flights of steps. The painted arches along with the arcades add to the beauty of the structure. The larger tombs are two storied while the smaller ones are single storied. The tomb of Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, founder of Hyderabad is the largest reaching a height of 42.5 meters and features the largest dome and has 28 open arches. Sprawling gardens with lawn add to the beauty of these tombs. Except on Friday, this place is open to visitors from 9:30 am till 4:30 pm.
