The picturesque Kolleru Lake, located at a distance of 95 km from Vijayawada has got the distinction of being the largest fresh water lake in India. The water body lies between the Krishna and Godavari delta. During the monsoon, the river spans nearly 260 sq. km into two districts of Andhra Pradesh – Krishna and West Godavari. It receives water from the seasonal lakes, Budameru, Ramileru, Tammileru and Errakalva and over 68 inflowing drains and channels.
